Whistler — Nocturne: Southampton Water

Boats and distant lights emerge slowly from smoky water and sky. A small amber moon lends warmth to Whistler’s restrained harbor, whose atmosphere deepens the longer you look. We chose this nocturne for its intimate scale and subtle color: a contemplative accent for a bedroom, library or quiet corner of the living room.

Paper, pigment and presentation

Printed to order by fine-art specialist theprintspace with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm. This 100% cotton paper has a gently textured matte surface suited to subtle color and fine detail. It is acid- and lignin-free.

An ivory window mat gives the image room to breathe. Cut from 1.4 mm acid-free board with a 45° bevel, it sits within a slender Nielsen Quadrum wood frame: 16 mm across the face and 25 mm deep. Choose black or an oak finish; the oak option is solid wood finished with an oak veneer.
