Whistler — The Little Lagoon

Fine masts, distant boats and a few foreground posts open onto a generous expanse of paper. Whistler gives the lagoon depth with remarkably few lines; the original sheet’s warm tone is retained within the image. Chosen for its delicacy and intimate scale, this work is particularly suited to a study, hallway or closely considered grouping of art.

Paper, pigment and presentation

Printed to order by fine-art specialist theprintspace with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm. This 100% cotton paper has a gently textured matte surface suited to subtle color and fine detail. It is acid- and lignin-free.

An ivory window mat gives the image room to breathe. Cut from 1.4 mm acid-free board with a 45° bevel, it sits within a slender Nielsen Quadrum wood frame: 16 mm across the face and 25 mm deep. Choose black or an oak finish; the oak option is solid wood finished with an oak veneer.
